When a tooth is damaged, decayed, or fractured, your dentist will likely recommend a crown restoration. As one of the most common dental procedures, crown restoration is very straightforward and can do wonders to repair a damaged tooth. Especially common following root canal therapy, receiving a dental crown is nothing to be afraid of. Your new crown is essentially a prosthetic tooth – though it’s designed to cover and protect your natural tooth, rather than replace it altogether. The crown is cemented onto your tooth and plays nicely with the rest of your smile. At Inspira Dental, we make sure you’re fully happy with how your crown looks and feels before you leave our office. If you didn’t know any better, you wouldn’t even know it's there!

Same-day Crowns with CEREC

At Inspira Dental Care, we offer CEREC same-day crowns in many cases. With CEREC, you can save time and money since there’s no need for impressions or a second appointment to receive your permanent dental crown. The entire process takes just one visit – the dentist will use 3D imaging technology to scan the tooth and then design your crown using computer software. From there, a milling machine fabricates the dental crown in just minutes.

The Tooth Crown Process

The dental crown process is relatively simple and straightforward. First, your dentist will take molds of your teeth to create a custom-fitted dental crown, specifically built for your tooth. The impressions are sent to a lab to construct the crown with high-quality materials such as porcelain, or you may receive a same-day CEREC crown.

When the crown is ready, your dentist will ensure that everything looks good before they cement it in place. With proper care, your dental crown can last up to 10 years or more!

Dental Bridge Repair

There are multiple types of dental bridges, but they all work with the same goal: restoring your smile and keeping your teeth functioning the way they should. Bridges are used to connect the gap between one or more missing teeth. This involves crowns acting as anchors on both sides of the gap, securing fake teeth, or pontics, between them.

Benefits of Dental Bridges

With your new bridge, you can take advantage of many benefits, such as restoring your healthy smile, allowing you to chew and speak correctly, or even maintaining your facial structure. Additional benefits include:

  • Strengthens bite and prevents teeth from shifting
  • Allows you to chew, speak and eat without difficulty
  • Prevents dental problems such as TMJ disorder, gum disease, and tooth decay

When is a Tooth Bridge Needed?

A dental bridge is a great restorative option for people who are missing teeth, either resulting from injury or decay or if an individual was missing teeth at birth. However, to be a good candidate for the procedure, your teeth on either side of the gap must be healthy so they can serve as the anchor to secure the false teeth.
