Dental Sedation Options at Inspira Dental Care
We offer three main types of sedation to cater to different levels of anxiety and procedural needs:
Laughing Gas –
Mild Sedation
Laughing gas, also known as nitrous oxide, is a mild form of sedation that helps patients relax. It is administered through a mask placed over the nose, and its effects wear off quickly after the procedure. This option is ideal for patients with mild anxiety or those undergoing less invasive procedures.
Oral Conscious Sedation – Moderate Sedation
Oral conscious sedation involves taking a prescribed medication before your appointment to help you feel calm and relaxed. This method allows you to remain awake but in a deeply relaxed state, with little to no memory of the procedure. It is suitable for patients with moderate dental anxiety or those undergoing longer or more complex treatments.
IV Sedation –
Deep Sedation
IV sedation is administered directly into the bloodstream, providing a deeper level of sedation. This method is best for patients with severe dental anxiety or those undergoing extensive or invasive procedures. You will be in a state of deep relaxation, and although you may be awake, you will be less aware of the procedure and may not remember it afterward.
